Dear Parents and Carers,

I hope you were able to rest and enjoy some of the amazing February weather last week. It is still very cold, so please do ensure that children are bringing in a coat every day and are wearing sensible black shoes. 

I want to thank our wonderful school community for digging deep and donating whatever you were able to for the Turkey and Syria Earthquake appeal. Your kind donations will be counted and sent via UNICEF. It makes me proud to work within a community that echoes our motto of 'Stronger Together'. As mentioned in the letter, we are here if you need any support. 

The hot kitchen is thankfully up and running. I wanted to remind all parents of children who are in Year 1 and 2 that this year unless your child has a medical need, they should be having the hot meals. So do book online and if you have any problems, do contact the school office, who will be able to help. 

Home learning grids for this half-term have been uploaded onto the website and your child's team page. Please make sure that you are completing the learning at home as this will support your child to secure the curriculum coverage for Spring 2.

Non-emergency appointments

I would like to remind parents and carers that any dental and non-emergency medical appointment must be made outside school time. Taking them out of school means that they are missing vital learning and has a negative impact on your child's outcome. 

Littering

We have had a number of complaints from our local residents that they have been noticing an increase in families littering and leaving rubbish in their driveways and in the local area. We have also noticed an increase in food packaging found around the front of the school. Can I remind you that if you are going to bring snacks to school, please can you bring a healthy snack that has minimal packaging and any rubbish goes home with you or in a bin!

Class Assemblies

Congratulations to 3 Planet who presented a wonderful assembly this morning! There was great acting, singing and a wonderful message that stands true to our motto of being 'Stronger Together!' Well done. 

Thank you to all the parents who attended this morning. Next week we are looking forward to 3 Galaxys' class assembly next Friday. 

Keeping Children Safe Parent Workshops

A reminder that we will still be hosting two further workshops with many more parents who attended Tuesday's session. The parents who attended all agreed on how valuable it was to support their understanding of some of the key issues linked to current safeguarding issues.

This project has been funded through the John Lyons Charity and will be delivered in schools across Ealing, Brent and Harrow. The project aims to support schools to develop a whole school approach to keeping children safe. As you will be aware, safeguarding is at the forefront of everything we do at Belmont School, therefore we feel this project will build on the outstanding safeguarding work we already do and will ensure that pupils, staff, parents and governors have increased understanding of how to keep children safe.

The final two workshops will centre around the topic of 'My Body, My Rules'. Each workshop will start at 9am and will last for approximately 60 minutes:
