About the Governors

BELMONT SCHOOL GOVERNING BODY MEMBERS

 

Manji Kara – Chairman

Manji is a retired railway engineer dedicating his free time for community service. He was Belmont Ward Councillor from May 2002 to May 2018 and has lived in Harrow for nearly forty years.
With children’s education at heart, Manji dedicates his time to school governing boards.
He is a Local Authority (LA) Governor at Whitchurch Primary and nursery School and has been there since 2014.


Manji has served as a Local Authority nominated school governor at Belmont School since 2017.
He is an active member of the PTA at Priestmead Primary School and Park High School where his sons received fine education in eighties and nineties.

Juliette Ginsberg – Co-opted Governor

 

Having previously worked as an economics and politics teacher at two secondary schools, Juliette currently works as an antitrust and competition lawyer at a leading international law firm.  Outside of work, Juliette’s interests include photography and Tottenham Hotspur football club. 

 

Summit Sharma – Co-opted Governor

 

Summit is a post graduate in Business Management and currently works at Barclays Bank in Finance for the past 12 years. He has been involved with Community, Diversity and inclusion programs and has been looking for long term initiatives to contribute to his local community after his recent move to Harrow.

He has gained insights and experience in Governance and is excited to leverage this experience to help Belmont school as a governor to help achieve it’s vision and enable students to reach their full potential.

He enjoys long distance walking, cricket and reading books.

 

Katharine Wooodcock - Co-opted Governor

 

Katharine Woodcock is currently Headmistress of Francis Holland School, Regent’s Park. She took up this post in September 2022 having previously been Headmistress of Sydenham High School, GDST, since April 2017.

 

Katharine read French and Russian at Bristol University. She gained considerable teaching experience, both in the UK and abroad, before embarking on her PGCE at St Mary’s, Twickenham. Katharine comes from a long line of teachers, and her first teaching post was as a languages teacher and resident tutor at Oakham School, Rutland, where she later became a Housemistress. She moved to London in 2005 where she took up the role of Second Deputy Head/Head of Sixth Form at Queen’s College. During her last four years at Queen’s she was Senior Deputy Head. Katharine sits on a number of educational groups and in her spare time enjoys running, the outdoors and spending time on the Jurassic Coast.

 

Sajith Sahib – Parent Governor

 

Sajith joined the Belmont Governing Body as a Parent Governor in March 2022. He is a Civil Servant and has lived in Harrow since 2003. He has a son who is in Year 1 at Belmont and is very passionate about improving the learning experience of students and is keen to help the school achieve the best out of students and to reach their full potential.

 

Yashin Mody - Co-opted Governor

Yashin has worked for many years in investment banking, advising on all aspects of corporate finance across a range of Financial Institutions. He is originally from South Africa having graduated from the University of Cape Town and has spent over 10 years in the UK, the majority of which in Harrow. He is keen to give back to the community and is ready to use his range of skills and experience to help Belmont School as a governor.

 

Yashin enjoys running and has taken part in a number of marathons in the UK, Paris and Soweto. Yashin is a dedicated husband and father to an energetic 6 year old boy. He spends his weekends and holidays playing golf with his son as well as running whilst his son rides his bicycle. He also enjoys long walks in the woods and many other adventures with his family.

Ayisha Siddika Rahamathullah - Co-opted Governor

 

Hello Everyone. My name is Ayisha Siddika Rahamathullah. I am a Software Engineer and previously worked at a financial firm before taking a career break to raise my kids. I have two kids, one in Nursery and another in Year 1 at Belmont School.

I wanted to become a Governor because I recognise the role that education plays in the successful development of children. I look forward to working with my fellow members in helping with the development of Belmont School.

 

Pawel Szych – Staff Governor

 

Hello Everyone. My name is Pawel Szych and I am a Teacher Governor at Belmont School.

 

I am very passionate about working with children and contributing my ideas to school improvement and development. I believe that making a real and significant difference is a way forward for education in our classrooms and creating equal opportunities for all children.

 

I am also passionate about growing different plants and experiencing outdoor activities as often as I can.
