Global Goal 4 – Quality Education - Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.

Dear Parents and Carers,

I am pleased to welcome you all back to Belmont School and a special welcome to all of our new families and pupils who have joined us not only in Nursery and Reception, but across the school. I would like to extend the welcome to all of our new staff who joined us in September too. We are pleased that you are with us, and we are excited to see how your children progress this year and beyond.

It has been an amazing two weeks, your children are settled into a routine and are enjoying all elements of the day. We are really pleased that all children in Reception are eating the school lunches, and we hope that all pupils in Key Stage 1 will do the same. Remember to book all your meals on Parent Pay in advance.

Today the children took part in an assembly about the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC). They reviewed their knowledge of the 54 articles that cover all aspects of a child’s life and set out the civil, political, economic, social and cultural rights that all children everywhere are entitled to. They will be learning about them across lessons and how they link to the Global Globals for Sustainable Development.

It has also been so wonderful to see so many parents attending our Phase Curriculum Mornings this week. We will be uploading the presentations up on the website in the curriculum section for you to view at your convenience. We will be hosting the Nursery and Reception's Curriculum Morning on Tuesday 20th September at 9am.

We will be running 'Stay and Play' sessions for our new Reception parents on the following days:

  • Star 2 Stay and Play session - Wednesday 21st September 9.00am to 10am
  • Star 1 Stay and Play Session - Thursday 22nd September 9.00am to 10am
  • Star 3 Stay and Play Session - Friday 23rd September 9.00am to 10am

To strengthen partnerships, we will be hosting other events, so please do look out for them and attend if possible.

Online Learning Expectations and Support

We continue to set online weekly home learning online via 'Microsoft My Teams'. Staff will review what has been completed and leave feedback on the pupil’s page.

We are digitising the way the school operates, this means you will have access to all of the pupils daily learning so that pupils can review what they have learnt during the school day at home.

Please focus on reading with your child every day for at least 20 minutes, help them to learn their times tables and spellings and talk to them about their learning in school.

If you need help or support with online home learning, Mr Baig, our Computing Technician will be available to support you every morning from 8.30am to 9am. You will need to complete the following form to let us know what you need help with:
