Global Goal 4 – Quality Education - Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.

Dear Parents and Carers,

We are very nearly at the end of this half-term.

Please ensure that your child has a coat/jacket, is wearing black school shoes or trainers. It is getting colder, and we have noticed that some children are coming to school without the appropriate clothings. Boots are not part of the school uniform policy and must not be worn. A reminder to label all bits of clothing including water bottles, hats, gloves and scarves.

We are delighted to see so many pupils bringing in exciting home learning. Do not forget that all tasks must be completed by Friday 21st October. We are excited to see your creative flair and how you have collaborated with your child!

6 Pluto's Class Assembly

Today 6 Pluto performed their class assembly that was based on Black History Month. The assembly was thought-provoking, and the pupils were able to deliver a message of peace, unity and reflection on how we can all be better people. Well done 6 Pluto!

Review of Morning Routines

Thank you to all of you completed the online form and have given us feedback on reviewing the morning routine.

I am excited to announce that after the half-term holidays we will be starting at the new the start time for Reception to Year 6 of 8.40am to 8.50am. Nursery will still start at 8.50am. This will hopefully help with getting your children in to school quicker and would mean that all children must be in class by 8.50am when the register is completed.

We will be keeping the queueing system at the end of the day, but will be moving Year 6 to 3.05pm collection.

A letter will be sent out next week with the visuals of the new routine to help you know where your child will need to be dropped.

Expected Behaviours and Characteristics of Effective Learning

Below you will find a picture of the expected Belmont School behaviour and the characteristics of effective learning that we have developed in conjunction with your pupils. They outline what we expect to see and learning strategies we use to support your child's learning journey with us. The characteristics of effective learning have been adapted from the early years curriculum, and we really would like you to refer to them at home to support your child. We really promote having a growth mindset and encourage you to come and find out more about this during next week's meetings with your child's class teacher.

Reminder - Parent's Evening

Online Learning Expectations and Support

We continue to set online weekly home learning online via 'Microsoft My Teams'. Staff will review what has been completed and leave feedback on the pupil’s page.

We are digitising the way the school operates, this means you will have access to all of the pupils daily learning so that pupils can review what they have learnt during the school day at home.

Please focus on reading with your child every day for at least 20 minutes, help them to learn their times tables and spellings and talk to them about their learning in school.

If you need help or support with online home learning, Mr Baig, our Computing Technician will be available to support you every morning from 8.30am to 9am. You will need to complete the following form to let us know what you need help with:

Health & Safety and general reminders - 07/10/22

To ensure that we are following safeguarding measures, we ask you to continue to help us by:

  • Only ONE parent to drop off and collect pupils to the teachers at the allocated times. This eases congestion around the one way system. If you have children in other year groups, you will only be allowed in school at the correct times – Please note - No parents will be allowed to wait on the school site.
  • Ensuring that you are joining the queueing system and not pushing in.
  • Wash your hands regularly.

Safeguarding remains ‘EVERYONE’S BUSINESS AT BELMONT SCHOOL.’

Harrow Children Services’ Golden Number is available to everyone, and gives people one number to call for information or advice on services for children, young people and their families.

Golden Number: 020 8901 2690.
