Global Goal 4 – Quality Education - Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.

Dear Parents and Carers,

What a great way to end this half-term by pupils, staff and parents showing solidarity to equality and diversity by wearing red to 'show racism the red card'. I am very lucky and proud of our diverse community and of our inclusive practises, we all must promote the rights of children and human rights!

It has been wonderful to see how your children have adapted to their new learning and curriculum and cannot wait to see how they progress after a well deserved break!

Year 6 High School Application Deadline

A reminder to all Year 6 parents that the deadline for High School applications is Monday 31st October. If you need any help, do visit the following site for more support:

New Morning Routines

A reminder that on Monday 31st October will be opening school for a soft start for Reception to Year 6 pupils from 8.40am to 8.50am.

The picture outlines the entry points for your child/ren:

We will be keeping the queueing system at the end of the day, but will be moving Year 6 to 3.05pm collection. We will have members of the Extended Leadership Team out on duty to help!

Parent's Evening

Thank you to all the parent's who attended the parent and teacher meetings this week. We had such positive feedback, and it was lovely for you to see all the amazing learning that your children have done over the past 7 weeks.

Next half-term, we will be hosting learning and achievement mornings for parents/carers to come in and have your child present to you about what they have learnt this term and what they need to do to keep progressing.

More information will be sent out to you after the half-term break!

First week back celebrations

On Monday 31st October, staff and pupils will be able to come into school in fancy costumes to enjoy the theme of 'Trick or Dress Up' day - no face masks allowed, but face paint will be.

Tuesday 1st November, the whole school will be taking part in learning of the Hindu Festival of Diwali. 6 Jupiter will be presenting their class assembly and Caterlink will be serving a special lunch to celebrate the occasion. Please log onto ParentPay to book a lunch for your child. As Diwali is known as the 'Festival of Lights', we would love for all to come dressed to school in bright colours.

Please do make sure that your child comes into school with a coat and sensible footwear on both days.

When do the clocks change?

A reminder to all parents and carers that British Summer Time ends when the clocks go back in autumn.

This year that date fall on Sunday 30th October at 2am, the clocks 'fall back' by an hour.

So please do remember to set your clocks at the right time!

Wishing all those who celebrate it a Happy Diwali and hope you all have a restful and safe half-term break! We look forward to seeing you all back on Monday 31st October!

Yours sincerely,

Mrs P Aggarwall

Online Learning Expectations and Support

We continue to set online weekly home learning online via 'Microsoft My Teams'. Staff will review what has been completed and leave feedback on the pupil’s page.

We are digitising the way the school operates, this means you will have access to all of the pupils daily learning so that pupils can review what they have learnt during the school day at home.

Please focus on reading with your child every day for at least 20 minutes, help them to learn their times tables and spellings and talk to them about their learning in school.

If you need help or support with online home learning, Mr Baig, our Computing Technician will be available to support you every morning from 8.30am to 9am. You will need to complete the following form to let us know what you need help with:

All meals will need to be ordered in advance and the menu can be found on the website.

If you need any help, please contact the school office on 0208 427 0903.

Health & Safety and general reminders - 21/10/22

To ensure that we are following safeguarding measures, we ask you to continue to help us by:

  • Only ONE parent to drop off and collect pupils to the teachers at the allocated times. This eases congestion around the one way system. If you have children in other year groups, you will only be allowed in school at the correct times – Please note - No parents will be allowed to wait on the school site.
  • Ensuring that you are joining the queueing system and not pushing in.
  • Wash your hands regularly.

Safeguarding remains ‘EVERYONE’S BUSINESS AT BELMONT SCHOOL.’

Harrow Children Services’ Golden Number is available to everyone, and gives people one number to call for information or advice on services for children, young people and their families.

Golden Number: 020 8901 2690.

A person points to themselves within a circle of black dots.
