Global Goal 4 – Quality Education - Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.

Dear Parents and Carers,

I cannot believe that we have just two weeks till the end of this term, it has flown by!

It has been wonderful to see how well all of your children are progressing at Belmont School, and it was amazing to see so many parents/carers come to attend the learning and achievement sessions last week. I would like to thank the staff for all of their ongoing amazing work so far and your children for having that continued passion to learn and make progress!

I would also like to thank the staff and pupils in 5 Eclipse,5 Asteroid and 5 Meteor for producing and presenting three very creative class assemblies. Do not worry if you were unable to make it, or would just like to watch it again as they can be found on your classes pages on Teams.

Upcoming Events

We are excited that we have a number of events happening this week and next week. This week the EYFS and Year 1 pupils will be showcasing their artistic talents through their Christmas productions.

We will have Year 4 attending Wigmore Hall for a morning of musical magic, and we will be reaccrediting as a Gold Rights Respecting school!

Please see the table below for more information.

Caterlink Christmas Lunch - Wednesday 14th December.

Caterlink has created a special Christmas menu on Wednesday 14th December. If your child wishes to take the lunch, please book via Parent Pay. All bookings must be made in advance. Please see the menu below.

School Disco - Wednesday 14th December.

We are excited to announce that next week we will be hosting our very first school discos! We will be starting straight after school, so there will be no need for your child to go home, and it will finish at 5 pm when children will be collected from the halls.

As we have two halls, we will be having the Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 disco in our lower school hall. Years 3 to 6 will be in our upper school hall.

We will be selling tickets through eventbrite at a charge of £5.98 and bookings must be made in advance if you wish for your child to attend.

Ticket prices will include a snack and a drink. For more information, please read the poster below!

Funky Jumper Week - Monday 12th to Friday 16th December

As always, we like to celebrate events in style! Next week, we would love for all staff, pupils, and parents to come into school wearing a funky/Christmas jumper every day if you are able to. It will be a great way to mark the end of 2022, and it will mean that if your child is going to the school disco, they will not need to get changed!

Microsoft Incubator School Award!

We are delighted to announce that this week Belmont School has been accepted by Microsoft into the Microsoft Incubator School scheme, which will allow us to earn a globally recognised status of Microsoft Showcase School.

This is a great achievement and marks the start of our schools journey to become a Microsoft Showcase School and demonstrates our commitment to exploring new and different approaches to teaching and learning to ensure students are prepared for success in school and beyond.

Microsoft Showcase Schools form a global community of like-minded schools offering pupils and staff inclusive experiences that inspire lifelong learning and instil future-ready skills to empower every one at Belmont School to achieve more and maximise opportunities around us.

We will be hosting training for parents/carers in the Spring Term! So watch this space!

A massive well done to Mr Baig, Miss Bhalla and the entire Belmont School community for gaining this amazing achievement for the school!

Finally, this is a reminder to all parents and carers the temperature has fallen and at the end of the week we are expecting to feel temperatures closer to zero degrees, it is important that you send your child to school wearing a coat and the correct uniform! Black trainers only, and PE Kits that have a plain white t-shirt and plain black bottoms! Please do not send your child in branded clothing.

We all hope that you have a lovely week ahead!

Yours sincerely,

Mrs P Aggarwall

Online Learning Expectations and Support

We continue to set online weekly home learning online via 'Microsoft My Teams'. Staff will review what has been completed and leave feedback on the pupil’s page.

We are digitising the way the school operates, this means you will have access to all of the pupils daily learning so that pupils can review what they have learnt during the school day at home.

Please focus on reading with your child every day for at least 20 minutes, help them to learn their times tables and spellings and talk to them about their learning in school.

If you need help or support with online home learning, Mr Baig, our Computing Technician will be available to support you every morning from 8.30am to 9am. You will need to complete the following form to let us know what you need help with:
