Global Goal 4 – Quality Education - Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.

Dear Parents and Carers,

What an amazing week of learning this has been! We would like to thank all the families who attended our 'Opal, stay and play sessions' afterschool. You all commented on how amazing it is for children to be children and enjoy their break time. As you have seen, we are running low on some of the perishables! We are always taking donations, but if it is something that you are not quite sure about, always speak to a member of the SLT.

Class assemblies

A huge well done to 2 River and 2 Sea for two very different, yet enjoyable class assemblies! There is so much talent within the classes, and we would like to thank the parents who were able to attend!

2 Sky's assembly has been rescheduled for Monday 10th July. We are looking forward to it!

Sports Day

This week the children participated in sports day. It was uplifting to see the children so excited and giving their very best throughout. We were also impressed with the children’s determination and resilience – learning that not everyone can come 1st is a vital part of education. We know a lot of parents and carers gave up their time to watch the children, and we really appreciate the respect everyone showed to all competitors. It was a lovely atmosphere which was made more special through having so many spectators. We would like to say a big thank you to the staff for their help in preparing and supporting the children; and to Mr Ayeh-Datey and Mr Clifton for organising the day.

Industrial Action

As I am sure most of you are aware, some teachers may be on strike on Wednesday 5th and 7th of July. I will write to you next week to confirmed whether the school will be partially or fully closed.

School Meals

As you may be aware, all children in our school will receive free school meals from September 2023 until further notice as part of the Mayor of London’s initiative. Please therefore arrange to clear any remaining balance on your child’s Caterlink meal account before the end of term via Parent Pay.

As of next year, ALL children will be having the amazing hot meal provided by our new catering company.

We are moving to a new provider, HCL, who will be sending through information regarding account set up, meal bookings and allergy menus. If you need any help to support the set process, please do contact the school office.

Eid Celebrations

Due to industrial strike action, we are moving our Eid Celebration day to Thursday 6th July. Pupils and staff can come in dressed in their celebration clothes with sensible footwear.

Eid Mubarak to our families who were celebrating this week. We hope you had a lovely time with your families and friends!

Online Learning Expectations and Support

We continue to set online weekly home learning online via 'Microsoft My Teams'. Staff will review what has been completed and leave feedback on the pupil’s page.

We are digitising the way the school operates, this means you will have access to all of the pupils daily learning so that pupils can review what they have learnt during the school day at home.

Please focus on reading with your child every day for at least 20 minutes, help them to learn their times tables and spellings and talk to them about their learning in school.

If you need help or support with online home learning, Mr Baig, our Computing Technician will be available to support you every morning from 8.30am to 9am. You will need to complete the following form to let us know what you need help with:
