Global Goal 4 – Quality Education - Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.

Dear Families,

What an exciting start it has been to the second half-term of Spring! The days are getting longer and brighter, flowers are budding, and the trees are starting to blossom! Nature is not the only change we have noticed, but we have seen incredible changes in our pupils! Some positive and some are not showcasing the Belmont School values of:

We would like to remind all parents/carers that you have all signed the home school agreement:

'As a Parent/carer I will:

  • Ensure that my child attends throughout each school term, and arrives on time.
  • Ensure that my child wears the correct school uniform.
  • Inform the school if their child is absent by telephone on first day of absence.
  • Make the school aware of any concerns that might affect the child’s learning or behaviour as soon as they become apparent.
  • Support my child with online home learning.
  • Attend parents’ evenings about their child’s progress and school information evenings.
  • Support and understand the agreement with Belmont Behaviour for Success.
  • Respect all members of the school community, abiding by their policy of zero tolerance towards rude and aggressive behaviour
  • We will support the school approach to online safety and not deliberately upload or add any images, video, sounds or text that could upset or offend any member of the school community.
  • Ensure access to games and devices is restricted (particularly overnight)
  • Ensure our children only have access to age-appropriate games
  • Ensure my child gets enough sleep before school.
  • Keep the school up to date on important family changes e.g. new addresses, contact details, phone numbers etc.
  • Encourage my child to work to their best ability.
  • I will follow the parents' charter and promote rights for my child.'

Please ensure that you are using appropriate language around your child/ren and are encouraging children to follow the expected behaviours of Belmont School! IF you need additional support or would like more information, please do not hesitate to speak to any member of the school community.

Book Week

This week the school has been immersed in reading, and yesterday we celebrated World Book Day! Everyone had so much fun, and we need to give a shout-out to Miss Patel and the English team for putting an amazing week together!

Everyone made such a spectacular effort, and it was very difficult to choose the winners! But the staff selected the following pupils for their innovative outfits:

  • Hannan - Star 1
  • Nathan - 1 Moon
  • Phoebe - 2 Sky
  • Mustafa - 3 Mercury
  • Luqmaan - 4 Neptune
  • Chloe - 5 Meteor
  • Gabriel - 6 Pluto

Enjoy your vouchers and keep reading!

British Science Week

Next week we will be taking part in science activities linked to the theme of ‘Time'.

We will be asking pupils and staff to dress up on Friday 15th March as scientists.

Outstandingly Happy Harrow School - Spreading Kindness

This half-term we would like all to focus on 'Kindness'!

Talk to your child/ren of a time in your day that you have seen something kind, had someone be kind to you or tell them how you were kind to someone else!

Let's spread kindness and actions throughout our day and become the positive role models that our children need!

Assemblies

We have had some wonderful performances this half-term. The Year 5's showcased the 'Happy Harrow' event that they attended. 3 Galaxy delivered the message of what 'Fair Trade' means and why it is important. 3 Mercury were able to create a mini West End production on 'The pied piper of Hamelin'.

In all assemblies, the pupils spoke and recited poetry confidently, sharing expectations, learning and sang wonderful songs. You all should be super proud of yourselves. We had an amazing turnout from parents too. Thank you for your continued support.

Reading log

This half-term, we had many of our pupils who found 'Golden Tickets' in their reading books. We have loads more dotted around the school and in virtual books, so please do ensure that you log your child's reading on the App.

Well done to all of our regular readers who have been reading non-stop at home since the beginning of term:
