Global Goal 4 – Quality Education - Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.

Dear Parents and Carers,

What an amazing half-term we have had. It has been incredible to see how much progress your children have made and the sense of community spirit that we continue to build on. We had successful King's Coronation picnic, which despite the weather, was a fantastic opportunity to bring the whole school community together to celebrate a moment in history!

I would thank all the pupils, parents and staff from Year 2 and 6, as they have completed the statutory assessments. We are proud of their dedication and positive attitudes towards participating in what has been described in the media as the most challenging papers to date, you have done yourselves proud!

We have had many educational visits and visitors to the school that have supported our curriculum development as well as our commitment to providing a cultural capital, including Wigmore Hall visits, Public Speaking for Year 6 and SEND Pupils Sports event hosted by West Lodge Primary School.

We would like to congratulate our Year 5 and 6 boys football team for winning the first annual 'Be Active Football Tournament' held at school yesterday. They played against three other local schools, and were clearly guided by Mr Ayeh-Datey and Mr Clifton that led to them winning 5-0! Go Belmont, we are so proud of you.

E-Safety- Body image and Self esteem - Firstly, it is important that we remind parents that site such as TikTok and YouTube have age restrictions. Secondly, it is important to keep an eye on the content which your child is seeing. These sites show unrealistic body types, use filters to alter appearance, some promote self-harm, anorexia and bulimia and are heavily focused on receiving 'likes'. Dr Linda Papadopoulos says parents and carers can play a key role in supporting children in this. Encourage them to reflect on their online activities and think critically about what they see. Help them ask questions like “is this how someone really looks,” “why is this image being used” and “how are these images making me feel?” For more information: https://www.internetmatters.org/hub/news-blogs/supporting-childrens-body-imageonline/

Year 5 pupils will be able to walk home by themselves after the half-term holidays. We will be sending out a separate letter with a link to the form which will need to be completed if wish your child to have the responsibilities to do this.

Finally, we have many events that we would like you all to attend in the final half-term and advise you to check the school calendar.

Enjoy the warmer weather that we all have been waiting for and have a restful break. We look forward to welcoming you all back on Tuesday 6th June!

Yours sincerely,

Mrs P Aggarwall

Online Learning Expectations and Support

We continue to set online weekly home learning online via 'Microsoft My Teams'. Staff will review what has been completed and leave feedback on the pupil’s page.

We are digitising the way the school operates, this means you will have access to all of the pupils daily learning so that pupils can review what they have learnt during the school day at home.

Please focus on reading with your child every day for at least 20 minutes, help them to learn their times tables and spellings and talk to them about their learning in school.

If you need help or support with online home learning, Mr Baig, our Computing Technician will be available to support you every morning from 8.30am to 9am. You will need to complete the following form to let us know what you need help with:
