Global Goal 4 – Quality Education - Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.

Dear Families,

As the holiday season approaches, it’s the perfect time to reflect on all the wonderful moments we’ve shared this term.

We’ve been so impressed by the enthusiasm and dedication shown by our pupils, staff, and parents alike. Whether it’s the new skills learnt in classrooms, the creative flair on display in performances, or the spirit of community that runs through everything we do, this term has truly been one to remember.

Winter Fair and Disco Fundraiser

We would like to thank each and everyone of you for your incredible support. The Winter Fair and disco were both fantastic events, and they wouldn’t have been possible without your involvement. Whether you attended, volunteered, donated items, or simply cheered us on, your contributions helped create a truly memorable experience for our pupils and the wider school community.

We hope you all enjoyed the games, stalls, Santa’s Grotto, and the fun-filled disco as much as we enjoyed hosting them. These events are a wonderful reminder of the strength and warmth of our Belmont community, and we are so grateful for your continued support.

We have been able to raise a total of £2900 that will be used for enhancing the outdoor learning environment. Thank you all for your support.

If you would like to be involved in the upcoming fundraisers or have ideas for future events, we’d love to hear from you! Please reach out to office@belmont.harrow.sch.uk. We’re always looking for new faces and fresh ideas to make our events even better.

Class Assemblies

Over the past couple of weeks, we’ve been treated to some incredible performances from our talented Year 4 pupils!

4 Neptune captivated us with their assembly on Winter’s Child, a heartwarming exploration of the season through storytelling and imagination. 4 Venus inspired us with their focus on emotions and the empowering ROAR (Rights, Opportunities, Aspirations, and Resilience) theme, leaving us with much to reflect on. 4 Mars brought storytelling to life, demonstrating their passion for narratives and creative expression.

Our Nursery, Reception, and Year 1 pupils also spread holiday cheer with their fabulous Christmas shows. Their delightful musical portrayal of the nativity truly warmed our hearts and brought the festive spirit to life.

A big thank you to our amazing staff, pupils, and supportive parents for helping nurture these wonderful moments and building on each pupil's confidence and performance skills. Your commitment makes all the difference!

A Reminder About Bringing Unhealthy Snacks into school -

We wrote to you in our last newsletter that we had seen an increase in families bringing in unhealthy snacks to school at the end of the day and part of after-school snacks.

Sadly, this has not changed! As a Healthy School, we do not allow snacks on school sites as they may contain allergens that are harmful to members of our school community.

Therefore, we will not permit unhealthy snacks such as juice, crisps, biscuits and sweet treats to be brought onto the school site. If seen, the staff will ask you to put it in the bin, or for you to take it home. So please do not bring these items on site.

Children who will be attending after-school clubs that finish at 4pm will not be given time for snacks.

Outstandingly Happy Harrow School!

The pupils in Year 5 have been learning more about living outside their zone of comfort and would like to share the following quote with you:

Do not forget that as a school we are all working in the 2% Mindset mode:

I look forward to handing out special badges to those in the wider school community who practice and spread the messages of joy and happiness! It might even be you!

Staff Leavers

A reminder that we will sadly be saying goodbye to Miss Karagianni and Ms Mcaleenan who will be leaving us to start new adventures elsewhere. I would like to thank them for their hard work and support that they provided at Belmont School and to wish them well as they embark on their new roles.

Communication

A reminder to all families, that if you have any issues or concerns, please do not hesitate to speak to any member of staff on duty or email the school office via office@belmont.harrow.sch.uk or by submitting your query on our virtual form found on our website (https://www.belmont.harrow.sch.uk/contact-us-form). We aim to respond to queries within 10 working days as outlined in our Positive Communication Policy, which can be found in the policy section on our website, where you will also find:

  • Community Behaviour Policy
  • Complaints Policy and Procedure
  • Managing Serial and Unreasonable Complaints Policy

We also would like to wish you all a Merry Christmas to all those who are celebrating and a Happy New Year!

We hope that you have a safe and restful break, and we look forward to welcoming you all back on Tuesday 7th January 2025 in the full correct uniform.

Yours sincerely,

Mrs P Aggarwall

We are digitising the way the school operates, this means you will have access to all of the pupils daily learning so that pupils can review what they have learnt during the school day at home.

Please focus on reading with your child every day for at least 20 minutes, help them to learn their times tables and spellings and talk to them about their learning in school.

If you need help or support with online home learning, Mr Baig, our Computing Technician will be available to support you every morning from 8.30am to 9am. You will need to complete the following form to let us know what you need help with:
