Global Goal 4 – Quality Education - Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.

Dear Families,

It’s been a very hot and sticky week. However, the pupils are learning how to keep themselves safe in hot weather and, with support, are remembering hats, drinking plenty of water and are staying in shady areas at lunchtimes. Do check the weather before coming to school. When it is hot, we do not expect the pupils to come into school wearing their ties or sweatshirts.

Well done to Key Stage 1 and Year 4 for completing their Phonics and Multiplication checks over the past two weeks.

We have many events on over the next few weeks, so we wanted to remind families to check the 'What's On' and contact the office if you have any queries.

Music Concert

We hosted an amazing music concert yesterday, and we wanted to say a huge thank you to the staff, the performers and the parents for braving the heat!

The performances were electric, and it was wonderful to showcase the effort and progress that they have made during this academic year. A massive thank you to our sound technicians! It was just a magical afternoon!

Sports Days

A reminder that we shall be holding several Sports Days in the upcoming weeks. In addition to coming to school in their kit on the day,  please can you ensure pupils bring sufficient water and a hat. If it is sunny, please apply suncream before your child comes to school.

Parents will be able to come and support their child on their day, so please check the date and time carefully.

Unfortunately, no photography/ recording is permitted due to GDPR and parental consent.

Reading support

Many families ask for extra learning. The best activity is being outside for daily physical exercise and reading to exercise the brain!

Below explains the importance of why reading for 20 minutes minimum has on your child's outcomes:

Do not forget to log your child's reading on our Reading Log App and to take pictures of them reading in the sun!

Communication

We will be sending out the 'What's On' list, as well as the home learning and curriculum overviews that will include information on what your child will learn this term.

A reminder to all families: If you have any issues or concerns, please do not hesitate to speak to any member of staff on duty or email the school office via office@belmont.harrow.sch.uk or by submitting your query on our virtual form found on our website (https://www.belmont.harrow.sch.uk/contact-us-form). We aim to respond to queries within 10 working days as outlined in our Positive Communication Policy, which can be found in the policy section on our website, where you will also find:

We are digitising the way the school operates, this means you will have access to all of the pupils daily learning so that pupils can review what they have learnt during the school day at home.

Please focus on reading with your child every day for at least 20 minutes, help them to learn their times tables and spellings and talk to them about their learning in school.
