Global Goal 4 – Quality Education - Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.

Dear Families,

A warm welcome to you all to the new academic year! It has been wonderful to see you all this week, and what a spectacular start to the Autumn term we have had!

A special welcome to all of our new families who have joined us this term from Reception and across the school. The children have settled into their new routines, classes and have been forming positive relationships with their class teachers.

We are looking forward to seeing how your children progress over the academic year!

Just a reminder that we will sending out information via Arbor, email and post information on the school website. We are here to help, so if you have any questions, do ask.

Let the year begin!

We are on Instagram!

We are thrilled to announce the launch of our official Instagram page, celebrating the diverse and wonderful learning taking place across Belmont School. This Instagram account offers an exciting opportunity to share what’s happening inside and outside the classroom with our extended school family.

Starting Monday 8th September, we will be posting updates for each phase, highlighting the learning, achievements and creativity of our pupils. New content will be shared throughout the week, featuring photos, videos and stories that showcase the incredible opportunities available to our pupils.

While commenting and sharing are disabled, you are encouraged to engage by ‘liking’ the posts and following our page.

We invite you to join us on this social media journey! Follow us at @BelmontSchoolHarrow on Instagram or use the QR code below for regular insights and updates on the vibrant life of our school:

Smartphone Free School

Just a reminder to our families that Belmont is a Smartphone Free school, and we do not allow pupils to come into school with any kind of smart technology. This includes: Smartphones, tagging devices and smartwatches.

If you need to contact your child while they travel to and from school, a simple ‘brick’ phone is enough. “Brick” phones do not have internet connectivity, and they are inexpensive.

We would like to work together with parents on this issue. Learning and wellbeing are our top priorities as headteachers. Research shows us that smartphones are detrimental to both. Together, we can make a big difference in our children’s lives.

If you would like to find out more about support for parents who want their children to be smartphone free, please visit Smartphone Free Childhood.

Nursery Spaces

We currently offer 15 hours funded nursery places from 8.35am to 11.35am and 12.15pm to 3.15pm.

We currently have limited spaces for children who are 3 years old for September 2025 or the term after they turn 3. If you would like to register your child for September 2025, then please contact the school office. Do not miss out on a spot!

Outstandingly Happy Harrow School!

We at Belmont are proud to be going into our 3rd year of working with and part of the 'Art of Brilliance' team.

Below is the text taken from their website for our new families who have joined us this week:

'Modern life is exhausting. If you’re not careful, it can grind you and your team down into 'average mode'.

Art of Brilliance exists to help you raise the bar from surviving to thriving. We specialise in keynotes, training and webinars that remind you (and your colleagues) how to SHINE.' - https://www.artofbrilliance.co.uk/

Belmont pupils and staff are always looking to live outside their zone of comfort and, as part of this, we would like to share the following quote with you:

Do not forget that as a school we are all working in the 2% Mindset mode:

Hope you have a restful weekend, and we look forward to seeing you all back on Monday.

Best wishes,

Mrs P Aggarwall

Headteacher

Reading support

Many families ask for extra learning. The best activity is being outside for daily physical exercise and reading to exercise the brain!

Below explains the importance of why reading for 20 minutes minimum has on your child's outcomes:

Do not forget to log your child's reading on our Reading Log App and to take pictures of them reading in the sun!

Communication

We will be sending out the 'What's On' list, as well as the home learning and curriculum overviews that will include information on what your child will learn this term.

A reminder to all families: If you have any issues or concerns, please do not hesitate to speak to any member of staff on duty or email the school office via office@belmont.harrow.sch.uk or by submitting your query on our virtual form found on our website (https://www.belmont.harrow.sch.uk/contact-us-form). We aim to respond to queries within 10 working days as outlined in our Positive Communication Policy, which can be found in the policy section on our website, where you will also find:

  • Community Behaviour Policy
  • Complaints Policy and Procedure
  • Managing Serial and Unreasonable Complaints Policy

We are digitising the way the school operates, this means you will have access to all of the pupils daily learning so that pupils can review what they have learnt during the school day at home.

Please focus on reading with your child every day for at least 20 minutes, help them to learn their times tables and spellings and talk to them about their learning in school.
