Dear Parents and Carers,

We cannot believe that we are halfway through this term already! It has been such an exciting start to 2024, not just with the weather, but with the amazing learning that your children showcase on a day-to-day basis! 

We extend our apologies for the mix-up with our extracurricular activities. We have tried to make it a fair process for all of our 660 pupils to have access to a school-run club. We have taken your feedback on board and will be working with Arbor to ensure that the Summer Term club selection will be easier. If you would like to discuss this further, please speak to any member of the Senior Leadership Team. We will be more than happy to help. We will be hosting more clubs. Do please watch this space!

Parent and Carer Consultation Evenings

We will be sending out booking notifications to parents and carers for the upcoming Parent/Carer Consultation evenings below:

• Monday 5th February from 3.20pm to 6.20pm - In Person
• Wednesday 7th February 3.20pm to 6.20pm - Virtually via My Teams (links to be sent out on Tuesday 6th February)

All meetings must be booked online through the Arbor system for the time slots that you are able to attend in person or virtually. Please book your appointment by Friday 2nd February through Arbor. You will need to do this for each of your children.

Once you have booked, you find a booking confirmation on Arbor, which you must keep with individual bookings for all your children.

We will be emailing you with a generic link to the virtual meeting on Tuesday 6th February, if you are attending the virtual meeting on Wednesday. Please ensure that you click the link a minute before your allocated time. Your child’s class teacher will only admit you when it is your allocated time.

We would like to extend our gratitude to 3i Plc an Investment Company in Central London have kindly donated £2,000 to the school to allow us to introduce Legos STEM Kits into our curriculum offer. We are very grateful to 3i for their generous donation and happy to say we now have kits in school which classes will use to supplement learning using Legos.

Microsoft Showcase Award

It's official, we finally have been awarded our 'Microsoft Showcase School Plaque' for our innovation and implementation of Microsoft technologies across the school! Thank you to all the pupils, parents and staff, especially to Mr Baig and Mr Simpson for all their hard work in securing this for us:

Assemblies

What an amazing class assembly by 4 Neptune who highlighted the importance of what we can do to combat climate change! Pupils spoke and recited poetry confidently, sharing wonderful energy-saving tips and sang a wonderful song. You all should be super proud of yourselves. We had an amazing turnout from parents too.

National Story Telling Week 

Next week, we will be celebrating National Story Telling Week. We have organised some exciting activities for all of our pupils. Nursery would love to have some parents come to read to the children. If you are interested, please speak to Miss Muscillo.

 

Number Day, Friday 2nd February - Non-Uniform Day

NSPCC Number Day, celebrated annually in February, is a special day dedicated to raising funds for the NSPCC (National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children) while having fun with numbers. It encourages us all to get involved in mathematical and numerical activities to support the NSPCC’s vital work in protecting children. 

We will be participating in a 'number' of activities throughout the day, and we would like everyone to come into school to dress up in attire related to numbers, such as clothing with mathematical symbols or patterns.

We will be collecting money for NSPCC, and welcome any amount that you wish to donate. So think of how you can dress up next week! 

Reading log 

Last term, we had many of our pupils who found 'Golden Tickets' in their reading books. We have loads more dotted around the school and in virtual books, so please do ensure that you log your child's reading on the App.
